Foster's Tahitian Express

As you know I've long lost time for perennial SBS windbag Craig Foster.  His incessant diatribes deriding coaches at all levels have long been a bane of the sport in this country.  For years now he has been getting away with attacks on various coaches, both Australian and foreign, some of which have gone well beyond the bounds of professionalism.  But today he may have found that he has pushed the envelope too far.

Following on from Melbourne Victory's appointment of Jim Magilton as their new coach, Foster wrote yet another grating opinion piece for the Sydney Morning Herald suggesting it was a backward step for the club.  His main argument yet again was Magilton's British origins.  But this time someone decided to take exception to the story.

Enter into the fray Fox Sports analyst Robbie Slater.  Slater launched into a tirade on twitter about Foster's perpetual attacks on all things British and he really lit the blue touch paper by revealing a secret from Foster's past.  Apparently Foster ended up in a Tahitian jail at the 2000 OFC Cup and it took some skilled negotiation from another Socceroo to get him out.  Additionally it seems Foster was subsequently banned from ever appearing for the Socceroos again.  While full details have not emerged about what took place it certainly dumps a massive pile of shit in Foster's lap that he now has to deal with.

Looks like it is going to be an interesting Monday for SBS's chief football analyst as he really is in a situation now where he has to come clean on what happened over in Tahiti.  But Foster has been slagging off people for years and as they say, karma is a bitch ain't it!!!!

Awesome. Hopefully we'll be witnessing the end of his commentary career soon.
